Our projects in Paraguay

Our project with Callescuela

Giving children and young people the key to a better future

Because every child deserves to grow up in safety and have big dreams.

In nine communities, nearly 700 children and young people face challenges every day: limited access to education, the threat of violence, and a lack of support. Together with our partner Callescuela, we are trying to improve their everyday lives and those of their families.

Safe places for young children

Learn through play, grow up safely.

The Centers for Holistic Care (CEPI) offer a stimulating environment for children aged 2 to 4 years.

  • Learning through play
  • Cognitive, psychomotor, and social development
  • Individual support for families

Three-year-old Sofia lives in a family where her parents work a lot. Thanks to CEPI, she discovers colors and shapes, plays with other children, and begins to develop her motor skills and curiosity.

Learning and development for older people

Strengthen skills, awaken passions.

The following are offered for 5- to 18-year-olds:

  • Tutoring programs adapted to every age group
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Strengthening self-confidence and independence

Informed and engaged children

Know your rights, stand up for your community.

Children and adolescents:

  • Learn about your rights and how to defend them
  • Participate in local campaigns to promote equality and non-violence
  • Becoming agents of change

Support for families and communities

Parents and neighbors strengthen the protection of children.

Parents and adult caregivers:

  • receive training on children’s rights and positive parenting practices
  • are supported in protecting and assisting their children
  • work with us to establish community commissions that advocate for rights and carry out prevention campaigns

The impact of your donations

This is possible thanks to your support:

  • Over 300 children aged 2 to 4 receive comprehensive care for their psychomotor, cognitive, and socio-emotional development.
  • 400 children and young people receive educational support and take part in extracurricular activities.
  • 225 young people are educated about their rights and become agents of change.
  • Families and communities receive resources and training to protect children and promote positive parenting practices.

Why this project is so important

Because every child has the right to:

  • To be protected from any form of violence
  • Having access to high-quality education and age-appropriate activities
  • Growing up in a stimulating and safe environment
  • Knowing your rights and actively participating in your community

Our project with CONNATs

Giving children and young people a voice

Because every young person has the right to participate in decisions that affect their life and their community.

In ten municipalities spread across three departments and the capital city of Asunción, children and young people aged 6 to 18 are encouraged to actively participate in public life thanks to the mechanisms of SIPPINA (Paraguayan system for the protection of the rights of children and young people, which enables them to participate in decisions that affect their lives and their community) and with the support of our partner Connats.

The “Terere Jere” Leadership School

Training young people to become agents of change.

  • 300 children and young people take part in training courses where they learn about their rights, how SIPPINA works, and civic engagement.
  • The young people are accompanied by educators during visits to the communities.
  • They participate in participatory assessments to evaluate the situation of children’s rights in their community and formulate concrete proposals.

14 year-old Martín, a member of a group in his district, is learning how to express his ideas, participate in debates, and propose concrete measures to improve child protection.

Participation in local and national committees

Make your voice heard and influence decisions.

  • Children and young people participate in departmental and municipal councils, in SIPPINA committees, and other advisory forums.
  • They conduct awareness campaigns on the topics of comprehensive protection, active participation, and combating violence and discrimination.

16-year-old Diego lives in a neighborhood where access to safe places is limited. He presents his assessment of his district to the local council and proposes protective measures for children.

Recognition and alliances with civil society

Establishing a sustainable dialogue between young people and the community.

Children and young people participate in local and regional alliances with social movements and civil society organizations (CSOs).

The information and best practices gained from their participation are shared with councils, public institutions, schools, and local organizations.

The impact of your donations

  • 300 children and young people take part in training courses on leadership skills and active participation.
  • The groups influence local and national programs and projects to defend and promote their rights.
  • The departmental and municipal councils take into account the perspective of young people, including the indigenous population.
  • Children and young people participate in alliances with civil society, thereby strengthening community participation.

Why this project is so important

Because every child and young person has the right to:

  • To be heard and to participate in decisions that affect his life.

  • Knowing your rights and developing your leadership and advocacy skills.

  • Advocating for better protection of children in your community and at the national level.

This project promotes active participation, strengthens young people’s sense of responsibility, and encourages dialogue with civil society so that their voices are taken into account when building a safe and inclusive environment.
