Our projects in Argentina
Our project with DyA
Strengthening local structures in Lomas de Zamora
In Lomas de Zamora (Buenos Aires Province), one of the areas where DyA operates, it is crucial that local communities and institutions have the necessary skills to provide children and young people with a safe and sustainable environment. To achieve this, DyA supports local organizations in improving their working methods and coordinating their activities so that they can offer reliable and sustainable protection services.
Specifically, this means:
Training key individuals from the neighborhood to improve child protection, promote their participation, and enhance the implementation of local projects.
The establishment of joint working hours between public institutions (schools, social services, health services, etc.) and local organizations in order to better respond to the needs of children.
Establishing joint working hours between public institutions Establishing regular meetings between the various stakeholders in the neighborhood (public institutions, schools, associations, etc.) to jointly decide on the measures to be taken and ensure their continuity (schools, social services, health services, etc.) and local organizations in order to better respond to the needs of children.
Educational support and development of children and young people
Learning, expressing yourself, and growing
In Lomas de Zamora, DyA’s educational and social activities contribute to improving access to rights and the well-being of children and young people. The projects include:
- Workshops and school support for 6- to 17-year-olds to promote educational success.

15-year-old Camila regularly attends mental health workshops in her community. During the sessions, she has learned to recognize signs of stress and anxiety in young people around her. Thanks to the tools provided by professionals, she was able to help a friend in need to seek appropriate support from local services, demonstrating the tangible impact of these services on young people.
Digital skills and education
Access to tools and development of expertise
In the Misiones region (northeastern Argentina), DyA is strengthening the digital skills of 200 public school students:
- Regular access to digital tools.
- Workshops on digital technology training in collaboration with the public sector and partner foundations.
14-year-old Juan had never used a computer for school before. Thanks to the workshops, he can now do his homework online and help his classmates understand digital tools.

Why this project is so important
In the areas where DyA operates, many children and teenagers live in precarious conditions: poverty, lack of access to basic services, violence. All too often, their voices are not heard.
By promoting their participation, learning, and development, DyA contributes to building a society in which young people are recognized as full members of their community and their rights are respected.
Our project with Madre Tierra
Because every child and teenager has the right to be heard and to participate in decisions that affect them.
In the neighborhoods of El Milenio and Los Hornos (Moreno district, Buenos Aires), we support children and teenagers in participating in public life and asserting their rights.
Participate in local decisions
Speak up, make suggestions, exert influence.
Children and teenagers are involved in local and community organizations to assert their rights:
- Monthly meetings in public institutions (thematic rounds, local council).
- Weekly children’s (El Milenio) and youth councils (Los Hornos).
- Annual participatory self-assessment and jointly developed work plan: Every year, children, teenagers, and families analyze the situation in their neighborhood and jointly determine the priorities and measures to be implemented.
- Annual awareness campaign by teenagers for the general public.
- Annual forum where children, teenagers, and local institutions come together to discuss progress and priorities.
- Involvement of councils in local committees with concrete proposals for action.
16-year-old Facundo took part in a training course on children’s rights. For the first time, he addressed the local council to present an assessment of his neighborhood and propose protective measures for all children.
Learning and developing
Reading, exchanging ideas, developing self-confidence.
- Education and literacy activities promote the participation and independence of young people:
- Participation in the municipal literacy campaign in five communities.
- Maintenance and supervision of literacy rooms for carrying out activities.
- Exchange between youth councils in the municipality of Cuartel V to share experiences and solutions.
10-year-old Lucía lacked self-confidence and struggled at school. Thanks to the literacy workshops, she has learned to read faster and now enthusiastically participates in her children’s council meetings.
Support for families
Recognition of children as legal entities.
Parents and guardians are supported in promoting their children’s participation:
- Raising awareness among families about equality, protection, and the right to participate.
- Support in implementing these principles at home and in the community.
- Strengthening the self-esteem and independence of children and young people with the support of adults.
Strengthening local organizations
Creating a protective and sustainable environment.
Actors in the communities are empowered to support young people in the long term:
- Training of 30 speakers on the topics of civic participation, sex education, education, health, housing, and the environment.
- Cooperation between neighborhoods to increase influence on local institutions.
- Support for five municipal literacy centers: Assistance for five institutions in different neighborhoods so that children and teenagers can learn to read and write and participate in educational activities as part of a coordinated local campaign.
- Participation in the monthly meeting of the Cuartel V organizations to coordinate measures.
The impact of your donations
With your support, we give children and teenagers in Moreno the opportunity to work for change in their community:
- Safe places where they can express themselves and be heard.
- Improved access to education and literacy.
- Aware families who are ready to protect their rights.
- Trained and active local organizations that provide long-term support.
Why this project is so important
In Moreno, more than half of the children live below the poverty line. Many face violence, exclusion, and a lack of basic services. All too often, their voices are not heard.
By enabling them to participate, make suggestions, and be heard, we are paving the way for a society in which young people are recognized as full citizens and their rights are truly respected.
