data-contrast=\"auto\">Callescuela<br><\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233117\":true,\"134233118\":true}\"> <\/span><\/h2><p data-start=\"61\" data-end=\"246\">Since 1983, the Paraguayan organization Callescuela (which means \u201cstreet school\u201d) has been supporting working children and young people, as well as those living in very precarious situations.<\/p><p data-start=\"248\" data-end=\"463\">Founded in Asunci\u00f3n, the capital of Paraguay, the organization is now active in the Central Department and the Alto Paran\u00e1 Department, particularly in Ciudad del Este, where it runs a community center.<\/p><p data-start=\"465\" data-end=\"600\">Their goal is simple and essential: to protect children, defend their rights, and give them better prospects for the future.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1a1b44c elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"1a1b44c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9beef2b elementor-widget data-end=\"649\">Her work is based on three strong pillars:<\/p><h3 data-start=\"651\" data-end=\"670\"><strong data-start=\"651\" data-end=\"670\">Help in everyday life<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"672\" data-end=\"699\">On site, Callescuela offers:<\/p><ul><li data-start=\"703\" data-end=\"746\">School support and homework assistance<\/li><li data-start=\"749\" data-end=\"777\">Educational and cultural offerings<\/li><li data-start=\"780\" data-end=\"818\">Meals and nutritional support<\/li><li data-start=\"821\" data-end=\"848\">Caring support<\/li><li data-start=\"851\" data-end=\"913\">Safe spaces where children can learn and rest<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"915\" data-end=\"1046\">In Ciudad del Este, for example, the community center provides a stable and safe place for the children and young people in the neighborhood.<\/p><p data-start=\"1048\" data-end=\"1206\">These measures enable children and young people to continue learning, gain new confidence, and not face difficulties alone.<\/p><p data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1233\"> <\/p><h3 data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1233\"><strong data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1233\">Protection and prevention<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"1235\" data-end=\"1321\">Callescuela organizes group workshops with children, young people, and their families.<\/p><p data-start=\"1323\" data-end=\"1391\">The topics covered are concrete and closely related to their everyday lives:<\/p><ul><li data-start=\"1395\" data-end=\"1416\">Prevention of violence<\/li><li data-start=\"1419\" data-end=\"1440\">Protection from exploitation<\/li><li data-start=\"1443\" data-end=\"1455\">Children&#8217;s rights<\/li><li data-start=\"1458\" data-end=\"1488\">Equality and respect<\/li><li data-start=\"1491\" data-end=\"1516\">Health and safety<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1518\" data-end=\"1742\">The organization works closely with communities and participates in several national networks for the defense of human rights in order to strengthen the protection of children beyond individual assistance.<\/p><p data-start=\"1518\" data-end=\"1742\"> <\/p><h3 data-start=\"1744\" data-end=\"1785\"><strong data-start=\"1744\" data-end=\"1785\">Children make their voices heard<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"1787\" data-end=\"1851\">Callescuela does not view children solely as recipients of aid.<\/p><p data-start=\"1853\" data-end=\"1961\">It encourages them to organize themselves, express their opinions, and participate in decisions that affect them.<\/p><p data-start=\"1963\" data-end=\"2093\">In this spirit, it has been supporting the CONNATS movement (see below) for many years, while respecting its independence.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d125a0a elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" families. There is a high risk that they will be excluded from school or exposed to violence and exploitation. <\/p><p data-start=\"2315\" data-end=\"2635\">Callescuela is committed to ensuring that work does not mean the loss of childhood or the loss of a future. It creates safe spaces where inequalities are particularly great, supports access to education, and strengthens children&#8217;s dignity. Its work is concrete, committed, and deeply humane.  <\/p><p data-start=\"2637\" data-end=\"2679\">And it needs long-term support.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element data-start=\"2698\" data-end=\"2765\">National Coordination of Working Children and Adolescents <\/em>(CONNATS) is a Paraguayan movement founded in 1999.<\/p><p data-start=\"2836\" data-end=\"3073\">Unlike a traditional NGO, CONNATS is a movement made up of working children and young people themselves. They organize themselves to defend their rights, their dignity, and their place in society. <\/p><p data-start=\"3075\" data-end=\"3335\">The movement is present in several cities and departments of Paraguay, particularly in Asunci\u00f3n, in the Central Department (San Lorenzo, Villa Elisa, and other municipalities), as well as in Ciudad del Este, Minga Guaz\u00fa, and Presidente Franco in the Alto Paran\u00e1 Department.<\/p><p data-start=\"3337\" data-end=\"3413\">It also brings together young people from rural and indigenous communities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4705952 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"4705952\" data-element_type=\"widget\"
