Our project with CESIP<\/h2>

<\/p>

Giving children and young people in Carabayllo (Lima, Peru) the key to a better future<\/h3>

<\/p>

In the communities of Comit\u00e9 31, Santa Rosa, Sol Naciente, Eliane Karp, 11 de Mayo, Los Portales del Sol, and Pueblo Joven El Progreso, more than 400 children and young people live in precarious conditions every day: they are exposed to violence, receive no family support, and are at risk of child labor. Together with our partner CESIP, we support them in order to strengthen their rights and create a safe and protective environment. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Empowering children and young people<\/h3>

<\/p>

Develop self-esteem, leadership skills, and the ability to represent interests.<\/p>

Children and young people aged 6 to 14 from the communities of Carabayllo receive training on their rights, leadership skills, and advocacy:<\/p>

  • Development of self-esteem and independence<\/li>
  • Leadership and citizenship training<\/li>
  • Collective measures to represent interests<\/li><\/ul>

    12-year-old Diego lives in the Santa Rosa neighborhood. Thanks to the training courses, he is learning to express his ideas and is participating in the first local campaign to defend children’s rights in his community. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Creating safe spaces: CDINNA<\/h3>

    Learning to relax and become independent.<\/p>

    In every community, Centers for the Holistic Development of Children and Youth (CDINNA) provide a framework for leisure, learning, and participation. CDINNA are community centers that offer children and young people a safe space to learn, entertain themselves, and develop their independence while actively participating in the life of their community: <\/p>

        Establishing a network for sustainable protection and participation.<\/p>

        Networks of municipal representatives and administrative committees are actively involved in promoting the rights of children and adolescents:<\/p>

        • Prevention of violence and protection of young people<\/li>
        • Promotion of education and leisure activities<\/li>
        • Monitoring of local measures<\/li><\/ul>

          14-year-old Carlos, a member of the Los Portales del Sol Management Committee, works with adults to organize activities and raise awareness among residents about children’s rights.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

          The impact of your donations<\/h2>

          <\/p>

          Thanks to your support:<\/p>

          • 400 children and young people are being educated and their rights protected.<\/li>
          • 50 young leaders are running campaigns to change their communities.<\/li>
          • 450 families are being supported in applying positive parenting methods.<\/li>
          • 7 municipalities have active centers (CDINNA) and a local protection network.<\/li>
          • Children are recognized as legal entities and actively participate in the public life of their communities.<\/li><\/ul>

            <\/p>

            Why this project is so important<\/h2>

            <\/p>

            Because in these neighborhoods of Lima:<\/p>

            • Too many children are confronted with domestic violence, early employment, or exclusion from school.<\/li>
            • Many families lack the means and tools to protect and support their children.<\/li>
            • Children’s voices are often ignored in community decisions.<\/li><\/ul>

              <\/p>
