with Espa\u00e7o da Crian\u00e7a<\/h2><p><strong>Because every child has a right to protection, nutrition, and harmonious development from an early age.<\/strong><\/p><p>In 2023, NPNP is supporting the Brazilian association Espa\u00e7o da Crian\u00e7a with its RECREIAR (\u201cplay\u201d + \u201ccreate\u201d) project with \u20ac21,000 to continue and strengthen its work with 60 children living in extreme poverty.<\/p><p>The project is part of a long-standing collaboration between NPNP (formerly PNP) and the Brazilian association, which began in 2002. After an interruption in 2019, the resumption of cooperation in 2023 revealed a need for support, prompting NPNP to provide extraordinary, temporary assistance. In 2025, this one-time assistance is now complete.  <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6b27224 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"6b27224\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f3c7594 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f3c7594\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2>Grow and develop<\/h2><h3>Eating, playing, learning<\/h3><p>The children cared for mainly come from the surrounding communities, especially from the Coelho district, where single parents-often single mothers-make up more than half of the households. In these households, which are characterized by poverty, food insecurity, and a lack of educational support, the protection and development of young children is very inadequate. RECREIAR therefore offers a structured, stable, and welcoming place designed to support their social-emotional development, prevent situations of violence, and strengthen their self-confidence.  <\/p><p>Some of the places are also reserved for children who have been referred by public protection services and are in the process of being reintegrated into their families or communities. This aspect underscores the important role of the project in early prevention and the protection of children&#8217;s rights. <\/p><p>The RECREIAR project cares for 60 children aged 4 to 6 on four afternoons per week, offering them a stable and protective environment.<\/p><p><strong>The children benefit from:<\/strong><\/p><p>\u2022 Two meals per day, which are essential in a context of high food insecurity;<\/p><p>\u2022 Comprehensive educational workshops: psychomotor skills, relationship activities, leisure activities, computer science, social and emotional education;<\/p><p>\u2022 A safe place where risks associated with violence, neglect, or isolation can be avoided.<\/p><p>Four-year-old Ana arrived at the center tired and often without having eaten anything. Thanks to the meals and workshops, she is now regaining her self-confidence, learning to interact with others, and making progress in her development. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5a4ecb8 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"5a4ecb8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ca9844c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ca9844c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2>Strengthening local organization<\/h2><h3>Creating a protective and sustainable environment<\/h3><p>Beyond the continuity of the program, RECREIAR relies on a cross-sector approach: cooperation with public schools, health centers, social services, and child protection networks. Home visits and family meetings make it possible to better understand the children&#8217;s living conditions, identify risk situations (violence, neglect, dropping out of school), and quickly take appropriate action. <\/p><p>Discussion groups are also organized to strengthen parenting skills, provide a space for listening and psychological support, and promote a more stable and caring relationship between the child and their family. These measures help to reduce the isolation of mothers, strengthen their independence, and create a protective environment for the children. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0da8773 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"0da8773\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0cc9359 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0cc9359\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2><strong>Why this project is so important<\/strong><\/h2><p>Given the inadequacy of public services, RECREIAR is often the only structured and safe place for children who are extremely vulnerable.
